The Port of Poole

After the challenges of 2020, Britany Ferries’ passenger services to Cherbourg and Condor Ferries’ service to the Channel Islands return.

Brittany Ferries’ freight service to Bilbao continues to perform well, and did so during the pandemic, with a new freight service to Morocco starting in summer 2021. Cruise ships will return to Poole Harbour and the port has aspirations to increase cruise calls – up to 40 over the next five years.

One of Poole Harbour Commissioners’ marinas, Poole Quay Boat Haven, has again achieved the UK Marina of the Year accolade, and we anticipate strong growth in the marine leisure sector in Poole Harbour. Already a seasoned superyacht stop, Poole is on the brink of becoming the UK’s number one super yacht destination. The port has invested in a new harbour crane and has plans to increase bulk and project cargo volumes substantially over the next five years, building on the success of the recently completed South Quay.
