Railway stations and services

Our region has seven railway stations. Bournemouth Station at the Bournemouth Travel Interchange forms the hub and is the most used with more than 2.5 million passenger journeys a year. Hamworthy, Poole, Parkstone, Branksome, Pokesdown and Christchurch are mainline stops from west to east.

First impressions count. The environment surrounding our stations must be representative of the status of our size and of our aspirations for our economy and our communities. Funding from a successful railway customer and communities bid will integrate our stations locally, raising their profile and status within the neighbourhood. Through secured funding from our £100 million Transforming Travel programme, we will make improvements to signage and onward travel information to improve our connectivity.

Our project to improve the environment around Pokesdown Station and the station approach for buses, cyclists and pedestrians complements plans by South Western Railway to improve accessibility within the station building, opening up this gateway to Boscombe and our Town Investment Plan programme.
